The 3 v's of Big data
The 3 Big V's of Big data
To Define Big data more specifically, we can use the 3v's of Big Data.
VOLUME
VARIETY
Big data comes with variety in the data that can be processed. The data can be either structured such as name, phone numbers, address, etc or even unstructured. Around 80% of the data in the world is unstructured data such as photos, videos, Social media updates, etc.
Advancement in Big data technology allows these types of data to be harvested and used on the go.
Big data has gained significant popularity for digital marketers as an important tool to gain insight into what their consumers need and want. Compared to traditional systems the ability to process large datasets is much more complex and advanced.

VOLUME
Big Data, as the name suggests is a large collection of data , ready to be processed. In modern times, the amount of data is increasing day by day rapidly and being stored and this has increased over the past few years. if we compare the amount of data of a decade back to the current year it shows a huge difference. It is also estimated that around 2.3 trillion gigabytes of data are generated each day across the globe.
MNC's have their own data stored in servers as well with at least 100,00 GB of data or more.
VELOCITY
As the internet is vast, every second data is processed in large unexpectable amounts. Every second on the internet approximately 50,000 Google searches are performed, 7,000 tweets are sent out on twitter, more than 2 million e-mails are sent across the globe, and more than 125,000 Youtube videos played and viewed.
This shows that vast amounts of data flow across the web every second and it goes on continuously. This flow is massive and can help researchers and business make important decisions for the future of the business and company
